Mellissa
Principal Partner and Founder, Sales Manager, started 1998
When a part-time job grows into a rewarding career, you know you are on the right path. That is the case for Mellissa. Thanks to her background in outdoor retail, guiding, and a lifetime spent outside, Mellissa appreciates thoughtfully-designed, well-made, gear. If you want to dig deep in into learning the technical specs of your gear, pull up a chair cause she’s all in! This attention to detail carries through as she guides the team at Escala and advocates for specialty outdoor retail and vendor partners. Mellissa lives in Peterborough, ON with her husband, Ian, and her son.
IAN
Partner, Watercraft Manager, started 2000
Ian has been waterlogged since his youth, reaching full saturation in 1998, when he placed 2nd at the World White Water Open Boat Championships! He continues to paddle and spend time on (and in) the water, but at a gentler pace now. At Escala, he is our lead for paddlesports. He lives in Peterborough, ON with his wife, Mellissa, and his son.
Mariève
Territory Manager in Quebec, started 2016
Surrounded by the ancient mountains of the Laurentians, Mariève loves any day when she is outdoors. Always game for an adventure, Mariève truly embodies “joie de vivre”. Having previously owned her own clothing boutique, she knows first-hand how best to support our dealers; she does so with care, understanding, and expertise. Marieve lives in Ste-Adèle, QC with her 3 daughters.
ANNIE
Customer Service & Social Media/Marketing, started 2017
Annie is a “generalist”. A “dabbler”. A “Jill of all trades”… She follows a meandering path and is game to try new things – be it at work, rest, or play. You will find Annie helping throughout Escala – in customer service, marketing social media, and staff training. She lives in Peterborough, ON with her husband, her 2 children, and her pup.
